The Embassy of Iceland in Tokyo is seeking a flexible and resourceful individual to join our team in a multi-tasking role. We are looking for someone who can take on diverse tasks with professionalism and efficiency. This full-time position is ideal for a versatile multitasker with the ability to adapt to different duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as the Embassy’s primary driver, ensuring punctual and safe transport of diplomats and guests.
- Assist with general office work, including handling phone, email, and general inquiries.
- Assist with the planning and execution of official events such as receptions, dinners, and other functions hosted by the Embassy.
- Maintain the Embassy vehicle and oversee property maintenance.
- Travel occasionally within and outside of Tokyo as required for work duties.
- Assist in the promotion of Icelandic culture and interests in Japan.
Language skills:
- Fluency in both English and Japanese is essential for effective communication.
What we are looking for:
- A proactive team player with organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility in taking on different roles as required, from driving to assisting at events.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the Embassy.
- A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and a residence permit are required.
- Experience in property management or event coordination is a plus.
Position details:
- The workplace is at the Embassy of Iceland, located in Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo.
- Full-time position with standard working hours of 9:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is essential as some events may require work outside regular hours.
