Statements at the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council

During each session Iceland delivers a number of statements on issues ranging from the human rights situation in individual countries to thematic issues. Those statements can be found below:

General debate on the oral update of the High Commissioner

Interactive dialogue on human rights and the environment

Interactive dialogue on human rights defenders

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in North Korea

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Iran

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Myanmar

General debate on human rights situations that require the Council´s attention

Urgent debate on current racially inspired human rights violations, systemic racism, police brutality and violence against peaceful protests

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Ukraine

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Libya

Interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Central African Republic

In the Human Rights Council Iceland also works closely with the Nordic countries, as well as the Baltic countries (so called NB8 group). Additionally Iceland is part of the so-called Mountains group which in addition to Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Australia, Canada and New Zealand belong to.
