Gender Equality in the Arctic discussed at SaGAA

Mr Hjalti Ómar Ágústsson, Special Advisor at the Directorate of Equality in Iceland, gave a lecture on Gender Equality in the Arctic at the conference Arctic and Antarctic, the Future of Arctic Ice in New Delhi, held by the institution Science and Geopolitics in the Arctic and the Antarctic  (SaGAA) on 28th 2023. 

The Embassy in New Delhi also sponsored the lecture of Dr Kunez Dolma, an expert in geothermal utilisation who was the first Indian woman to attend the Geothermal Training Programme in Iceland. Dr Dolma discussed Technological Innovations in Geothermal Energy: Learnings from Iceland. Dr Dolma is the Vice Chairperson of the Sustainable Development Forum of Ladakh (SDFL). India and Iceland cooperate on a geothermal project in Ladakh.

Abassador Guðni Bragason addressed the final session of the conferrence as Guest of Honour.
