Iceland emphasizes the importance of gender mainstreaming within the multilateral system at the OSCE Permanent Council on the occasion of the International Women´s Day.

Iceland emphasized the importance of gender equality and gender mainstreaming within the international system in discussions at the OSCE Permanent Council on 7 March 2019 on the occasion of the International Women´s Day, the day after.
Gender considerations should be part of all policies and programs of the OSCE. The adoption of the Milan Ministerial Council Decision on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women was greatly encouraging for future OSCE endeavors. The Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security is of utmost importance for the OSCE and its work in conflict areas, where the vulnerable, - women, children, the handicapped and the elderly -, suffer the most, Permanent Representative Guðni Bragason stated.

Statement Iceland of the Permanent Representative of Iceland.
