Promoting Premium Icelandic Seafood in Beijing
The Embassy of Iceland recently hosted a special promotional event in collaboration with ICELANDIC Seafood, a leading Icelandic seafood export company. The event was a resounding success, bringing together over 70 guests eager to experience the unique flavors and quality of Icelandic seafood.
The highlight of the evening was a live culinary showcase by the Executive Chef of Iceland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Mr Friðrik Sigurðsson. Guests were treated to an exceptional tasting menu featuring 16 exquisite dishes crafted from sustainably sourced Icelandic seafood, including redfish, mackerel, cod, sea cucumber, herring, capelin roe, lumpfish, salmon, silver smelt and Greenland halibut.
Each dish celebrated the freshness, purity, and versatility of Iceland’s marine resources—hallmarks of the country’s rich culinary tradition. Attendees not only enjoyed a memorable dining experience but also had the opportunity to learn more about ICELANDIC Seafood and its commitment to sustainability, quality, and innovation in seafood exports. This successful event reinforced the growing appreciation for Icelandic seafood in China and highlighted the strong culinary and trading ties between the two countries.
