Ambassador Met With Mr. Ma Youxiang Vice Minister of Agriculture of China

Ambassador Thorir Ibsen met with Mr. Ma Youxiang Vice Minister of Agriculture of China at the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2021 in Qingdao. They discussed developments in sustainable fisheries and aquaculture and the many connections between Iceland and China in the areas of marine related activities. China is Iceland’s largest export market in Asia, with seafood being the  most important commodity. Icelandic high tech fish processing technology is also very important. The Fisheries Training Programme in Iceland receives students from China and Icelandic freight forwarding companies operate on the east coast of China.
