2024 Qinghai Investment & Trade Fair for Green Development

Ambassador Thorir Ibsen led an Icelandic Business Delegation, consisting of local executives of Arctic Green Energy, Carbon Recycling International and Marel, to the 25th Qinghai Investment & Trade Fair for Green Development during 11-15 July.  Iceland is the first Guest Country of Honour at the Qinghai Fair, and a special Qinghai-Iceland Economic & Trade Cooperation Conference was organized for match-making purposes, where representatives of the 3 Icelandic companies gave presentations respectively to a 100-or-so audience from over 50 local companies in clean energy, aquatic and husbandry sectors.  The 3 Icelandic companies were also highlighted at the Icelandic National Pavilion at the exhibition site of the Qinghai Fair, which also featured Icelandic tourism and Icelandic specialty products that are becoming popular in China.

Ambassador Ibsen also underlined the capacity and interest of Icelandic companies in contributing to the green development in Qinghai province on various occasions, including at the meeting with Party Secretary and Governor of Qinghai Province, in his VIP address at the opening ceremony of the Qinghai Fair and the launching ceremony of the Icelandic National Pavilion, and at the exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency, a leading Chinese mainstream media.
